Bespoke genealogical research

Whilst birth, marriage and death records can give you an outline of your ancestors’ lives and introduce you to surnames you weren’t aware of, there is so much more to discover.

Delving into your family history in greater detail can give you a much deeper appreciation of the lives your ancestors lived, placing them in history and rooting them in their geographical, social and economic environments.

My bespoke genealogical research is tailored to your specific requirements. You might be interested in examining the life of a single individual, or tracing one line back as far as records will allow. Perhaps you would like to know more about what life would have been like for a mill-worker ancestor in the 19th century, or you are interested in finding out about someone who emigrated overseas.

Once we have agreed on the focus and scope of your research, I will produce an individual, fully costed package for you. Using a variety of appropriate sources, I should be able to build a full and satisfying picture of your ancestor’s life, helping to bring them back to life.

The final result of my research will be a comprehensive narrative report, illustrated with family tree charts, images and maps, as well as historical timelines that will enable you to place your ancestors vividly in the world in which they lived.

My bespoke research service is charged at £40 per hour, with a minimum commission of two hours’ research.

Please contact me for a free, no obligation initial consultation, to discuss your requirements.
